Affinity Circles, The Active Network partner to deliver tools for social networks

Active’s EventRegister solution is now available to Affinity Circles’ customers, which include more than 100 membership organizations, making it easy to add event registration and management functionality to their online communities. Members simply fill out a secure online form, pay by credit card or e-check and instantly receive email confirmation. Using Active’s data management software, event organizers are able to streamline the process of creating reports, rosters, communications, attendee tracking, billing and financial transactions.

Google sites ranked as top U.S. video property for March 2007

comScore released its comScore Video Metrix rankings for March 2007, showing Google sites as the top U.S. streaming video property with 57.4 million unique people streaming and 1.2 billion video streams initiated. YouTube drove the lion’s share of the video streaming activity at the Google sites property with 53.5 million unique streamers and 1.1 billion streams initiated.

March saw Americans consume more than 7 billion video streams online, led by Google sites with 1.2 billion (16.7 percent share of streams). Yahoo! sites ranked second with 434 million streams (6.2 percent), followed by Fox Interactive with 421 million (6.0 percent) and Viacom Digital with 260 million (3.7 percent).

In total, more than 126 million Americans viewed online streaming video in March. Google Sites also captured the largest streaming video audience with more than 57 million unique streamers, followed by Fox Interactive Media with 47.4 million and Yahoo! Sites with 34.5 million.

Facebook has created an easy way for its users to get quick answers to questions through its new polling feature. Facebook Polls allows you to ask detailed questions, target them to specific user segments and receive real-time responses. Facebook users can be targeted based on gender, age, school, location, or profile keyword. Each poll is displayed in users’ News Feed.

Facebook Polls is an excellent way for any corporation, organization or individual looking to gauge interest in a particular topic. For instance, a political organization can create a poll to get a sense of the popularity of candidates within a particular region and within a certain age demographic.

Facebook Polls is viewed as the newest revenue source. To create a poll, each user must spend a minimum of $5 for set-up. From there, each user can dictate how many answers they would like to receive and how much they are willing to pay for each answer. The more you are willing to pay per answer, the more your poll will show up and the quicker you will receive the cumulative data. .
