Iranian President has begun to blog according to reports from Iranian State Television and Al-Jazeera. While the move largely appears to be a publicity stunt, it will be an interesting read as I find most of his radical sentiment and anti-US and Israeli rhetoric rather amusing.

I mean as a leader of a state he’s one of the first to take to blogging but still I wonder how much control over the blog he has and what his intended reach is. If it’s people, I wonder how effective his blog will be to rallying the people around his cause. But this is the next logical step in this strange sometimes hot – sometimes cold war between Islamo-Fascists and the Western Counterparts. President Bush has largely stated in the past he’s totally in favor of blogs. I wonder if now that the Iranian President has a blog if he will make a blanket statement stating that blogs are a weapon of the Axis of Evil. It’s only a matter of time before Al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden starts its blog.

In his first entry Ahmadinejad wrote about his childhood, the country’s Islamic revolution and Iran’s war with Iraq.

The blog also asks readers to participate in an online poll which asks if they think the United States and Israel are “pulling the trigger for another world war”.

Andy Hagans asks some cool questions over at The SeoBook Blog

The pertinent questions:

1. Will link building still be very important for rankings in the medium term?
2. When will link popularity be devalued in favor of other algo elements (that are less tedious, from a webmaster’s point of view)?

Check it out… I confess this is a little geeky but could very well be the difference maker in creating yet another blog and the next big blog.

YouTube last night was under for a few hours. I know because I watch patiently everynight as Brigitte puts up our daily video blog on PopCrunch.

So I waited and I waited. Atlast YouTube came back online. Here’s some cool new graphics on all the Embedded Flash Players. But the cool thing is I can have a Profiled Video on my profile page now that just works. I think this feature existed before but it just got simpler. YouTube seems to be running slightly faster too. Hmm, noticing a few new ad placements here and there. But overall still very clean.

Way to go YouTube, I know you had some database issues lately. I saw a bunch of errors in days leading up to the crash. So its good to see you rocking it out again.

Blogger is having its first major upgrade since being acquired by Google some years ago.
