NYPost.com has launched Pet News powered by Zootoo.com. Zootoo’s Pet News has produced over 1,000 pet stories since its inception and is located in the NY Post’s Entertainment section.

In addition to keeping pet lovers abreast of all news regarding pets, NYPost.com’s Pet News provides mapped listings of local pet services: vets, groomers, shelters, sitters, trainers, etc., many with reviews written by their customers. Kiwibox joins YouTube Partner Program

kiwibox2Kiwibox, a social networking destination and online magazine for teens, has officially been accepted into the YouTube Partner Program. Kiwibox will now be able to share in advertising revenue from the over 500 Kiwibox exclusive videos appearing on YouTube.

YouTube created their Partner Program so that companies like Kiwibox can profit from their originally produced online videos. The videos appearing on YouTube’s Kiwibox Channel feature exclusive interviews with musicians and celebrities such as: Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Lauren Conrad, Mark Wahlberg and many more.

Meredith launches dedicated online women’s network

Meredith Corporation has launched Meredith Women’s Network, the first brand network comprised of premium websites geared toward the topics that matter most to women.

The Meredith Women’s Network, which engages 15 million unique visitors monthly, includes The Better Homes and Gardens Network (Better Homes and Gardens, Better Recipes and soon-to-launch MixingBowl), The Parents Network (Parents, American Baby and Family Circle) and The Real Girls Network (DivineCaroline, Fitness, More and Ladies’ Home Journal).

Meredith Interactive has made several recent advances to enhance its offerings and capabilities, chiefly in the area of social networking. Later this month, Meredith will launch MixingBowl, a social network built entirely around food, recipes and entertaining.

AOL launches new version of its web mail

AOL’s Products and Technologies Group launched an enhanced version of AOL Web Mail that offers users one-click access to Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and a variety of third-party sites and destinations directly from the AOL Web Mail page.

Over the past year, AOL has added more than 30 new features and a variety of new functionality to Web Mail in an effort to make it more open to third-party content and to offer more monetization opportunities to advertisers. The new version is being released globally, making it available in more than 38 countries and locales around the world.

Key features of AOL’s new Web Mail product include:

Access to Third-Party E-mail Accounts: The third-party mail plug-ins allow users to preview Yahoo! Mail and Gmail within the AOL Web Mail experience, as well as take advantage of one-click access to Yahoo! Mail and Gmail.

Faster performance: Using updated technologies, AOL has increased the speed and performance of its Web Mail experience, and enhanced the user interface to make it more intuitive.

Themed Skins: More than 45 new “skins” or themes let users personalize their page, and offer advertisers the ability to work with AOL to create themes that will appeal to key audiences.

Plug-in Gallery: Users can customize their Web Mail page by choosing from a variety of new plug-ins offering one-click access to favorite sites, content, Gmail and Yahoo! Mail. The Gallery also offers access to all of the AOL gadgets currently stored in the myAOL Gallery. In addition, AOL is inviting third-party developers to create new gadgets for Web Mail via http://dev.aol.com.

AOL Sync: Users can make real-time updates to AOL Calendar and Address Book from their desktop or a variety of wireless devices, including the Blackberry and iPhone. In addition, users around the globe can enjoy a completely mobile AOL Mail experience from virtually any device.

The launch marks the first release from the AOL Product and Technologies Group, created as one of the final steps in AOL’s transformation to an advertising-supported business.

Jaman rolls out UK operations

Online destination for high-definition and entertainment Jaman.com is meeting the demands of its international audience by increasing its library of content and expanding into the lucrative European marketplace. With international members accounting for more than 70% of the site’s users, Jaman marks its initial global expansion by introducing its first localized site in the United Kingdom.

Industry veteran David Fischer, former executive vice president and managing director of MySpace and Fox Interactive Media, will serve as managing director of Jaman’s UK and international operations. Based in London, Fischer will be responsible for international business operations.

The UK site debuts with more than 1000 titles, including those from leading film companies such as BFI (British Film Institute), Pathé Films, ContentFilms and Axiom Films.

The company recently announced a partnership with TiVo to make Jaman’s world-class films available in any living room in America – offering a whole new level of entertainment options for film lovers around the country. Jaman’s current content providers include Paramount Pictures, Lionsgate, Eros International, Magnolia Pictures, First Look Films, Arts Alliance America and BBC Worldwide.
