AOL Latino is launching its special coverage of Hispanic Heritage Month, the annual four-week national celebration from September 15 to October 15.
Featured on AOL Latino’s dedicated Hispanic Heritage Month hub, the coverage will promote Hispanic culture in a variety of ways, including “Vive en Español,†a campaign dedicated to promoting the importance of Spanish language as a cultural touchstone in bilingual households.
AOL expanded into Latin America by launching sites in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela and Mexico earlier this year and plans to expand into Brazil. In the U.S., AOL Latino is one of the top two bilingual portals for Hispanics with more than 2.2 million unique visitors.

I’m glad that AOL is giving recognition to this special month (or months). Hispanic Heritage month is such an amazing time of celebration and recognition of all the Hispanics out there! There are so many influential people and so many accomplishments!
One Hispanic that I think is quite influential in the community is Cristina Saralegui. Her accomplishments in both journalism and broadcast are great! She’s also recently joined forces with AARP to bring a voice to Hispanics. She’s spreading the word about the benefits of such a great company and how they can improve the lives of Hispanics everywhere.
