AOL and Bebo, a global social networking site, has announced a worldwide alliance to deliver the AIM service to Bebo users. Existing Bebo and AIM users anywhere in the world are now able to directly connect or exchange contact information to invite each other to join their respective services.
With the integration of AIM with Bebo, an AIM icon will now automatically appear on a Beboer’s profile, and will indicate if the user
is signed on to AIM and available to chat. Beboers, regardless of whether they have an AIM screen name, can then initiate an instant message directly from a Bebo profile.
“As one of the largest instant messaging communities in the world, we’re always looking for new ways to make it easier for users to connect and communicate with the people they care about. As one of the top global social networks, we’re excited to work with Bebo to expand our reach in the fast-growing arena of social networking and to offer Beboers another way to communicate online,” said AOL Messaging & Social Media Sr. Vice President & General Manager Marcien Jenckes.

I personally don’t like this merge at all. I am mad that aim converted to bebo with no warning whatsover. I’ve lost my profile and all the pictures on it. It would have been nice to know what’s going on or had a say in the matter or a choice to keep my original profile. Its not even aim anymore..its now bebo. Aol has always sucked and now my opinion of
them has stooped to its lowest level..

BEBO SUCKS D***!i want my profile back

Probably one of AOL’s biggest mistakes. AOL pushed BEBO on its user with no warning and has upset its loyal customers. The profile is hard to use, and if we wanted a social networking page we would have Myspace or AOL which are popular in OUR country.

bebo sucks i want my old profile back ASAP!!!!!

I cant believe (well yes I can) that AOL spent all that money on this profile engine. It’s worse than worse.
Each time I mess with it, it gets worse, hey I’m not trying to make a f-ing website just some simple profile items.
AOL you REALLY made a bad choice!
If AOL ever messes with their chat rooms, you watch it will be history for AOL. Given the fact that AOL does weird deals, it’s only a matter of time.
