Jeremy Wright (born June 30, 1979) is a blogger, author, consultant, and President of b5media, which he founded along with Darren Rowse, Duncan Riley and was later joined by Shai Coggins. He lives in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, Canada.
Biography
Born in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada to Canadian Military parents, Wright spent his first 5 years in Lahr, a Canadian Forces base in Western Germany. As a child of military parents, Wright often moved, spending time in Shilo, Manitoba, Brandon, Manitoba, Borden, Ontario and finally settling through his high school years in the Alliston, Ontario area.
Wright spent time as a web and graphic designer, and worked closely with the County of Surrey in the UK as a Y2K Project Manager. He eventually moved to Toronto where he worked as a graphic designer, senior designer, web developer, IT Manager and eventually Direct of IS / IT.
In recent years Wright has become famous for a number of odd blogging activities. He once sold his blog on eBay for almost $15,000 , and then bought it back later. He is also well known for getting fired for what he wrote on his blog . In January of 2005 he was stopped at the U.S. and Canadian border for saying his profession was “blogging” . He has also written a book, “Blog Marketing”, which helps people use blogs to help their businesses.
