PlaySpan, Inc. has launched the PlaySpan Virtual Goods Marketplace. PlaySpan has contracted to sell items from dozens of top-tier games, including EVE Online, Gunz, Kal, Knight Online, Saga, Shaiya, Silk Road, Soldier Front, Trickster and War Rock. Visitors to the Marketplace will be able to purchase time codes, virtual currency and other items offered by these publishers in a secure environment at the lowest prices.
With its current catalog, PlaySpan will serve an estimated audience of 100 million-plus online gamers, who will be able to purchase virtual goods, time code and subscriptions with major credit cards, PlaySpan points, PayPal or PayByCash.
As a special introductory offer, new Marketplace customers will receive 100 free points when they register. Additional games will be added weekly.
The PlaySpan marketplace serves as both a distribution network for its publisher partners, which include Aeria, CCP, GamersFirst, InixSoft, JoyMax, NHN, Ntreev and Saga, and also a showcase for PlaySpan’s micropayments solution, which it licenses directly to developers and publishers.
PlaySpan offers a complete micropayments platform for virtual goods and online game subscriptions, including more than 70 payment methods through its subsidiary PayByCash and the pre-paid Ultimate Game Card available in Blockbuster, 7-Eleven, Rite-Aid and Wal-Mart stores.
